Consent and preferences log
Which choices the VeniceAround.it website records, with what data and for how long, and how you can change them or request a copy.
In short
What does the VeniceAround.it consent log keep?
The VeniceAround.it consent log keeps only proof of cookie preferences, including consent to Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity statistics (12 months), proof that the privacy policy was read when the inquiry form was sent (24 months) and proof of newsletter subscriptions. Preferences are recorded with a pseudonymous identifier and an IP fingerprint, without the IP address in clear. The text of inquiries is not part of the log. You can change your preferences or request a copy at any time.
This translation is provided for convenience; in case of discrepancy the Italian version prevails.
The log
What the website records and why
The consent log is the record in which VeniceAround.it keeps proof of two kinds of choice made by visitors:
- the cookie preferences saved in the banner or in the "Cookie preferences" panel, including consent to or refusal of Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity statistics;
- acknowledgment of the privacy policy, confirmed with the required checkbox on the inquiry form.
Its purpose is to show, if necessary, which policy was in force and which choice was made, as required by the GDPR accountability principle (Art. 5(2)). The log also documents subscriptions to the news newsletter (request, confirmation via link and unsubscription). The website does not collect consent for third-party marketing or profiling, because it carries out none of these activities; the only optional consent collected with the cookie preferences concerns Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity statistics.
Cookie preferences
What data we record when you save cookie preferences
When you save a choice in the banner or the panel, the website records:
| Field | Content |
|---|---|
| Identifier | A random pseudonymous code, generated by the website and also saved in your browser (va_consent entry) |
| Date and time | When you saved or changed your choice |
| Choices | Status of the categories: Necessary (always on), Analytics (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity), Marketing |
| Version | Version of the cookie policy in force when the choice was made |
| IP fingerprint | A value produced by a truncated hash function: the IP address is not stored in clear |
Retention: 12 months from the choice. After 12 months the record is deleted and the panel returns to its initial state.
Forms
What we record when you send the inquiry form
The checkbox on the inquiry form confirms that you have read the privacy policy. It is not consent to marketing. When you send the form, the log records:
| Field | Content |
|---|---|
| Inquiry reference | A code linking the record to the email received by VeniceAround |
| Date and time | When the form was sent |
| Policy version | Version of the privacy policy in force when the form was sent |
| Sender's email | The address entered in the form |
Retention: 24 months from sending. The text of the message and the other form fields are not part of the log: they are sent by email to daniela@venicearound.it and kept in the website's private inquiry area, accessible only to Daniela, for the periods stated in the privacy policy.
Your choices
How to view or change your cookie preferences
You can reopen the panel at any time with the button below or with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page. Each change is recorded with a new date and time. If you withdraw consent to statistics, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are no longer loaded. The Marketing category remains unused whatever you choose, because the website uses no marketing tools.
Rights
How to request a copy or deletion of the records
You can ask us for a copy of the records concerning you, or for their deletion, by writing to daniela@venicearound.it. To help us find them, please give:
- for acknowledgment on the form or the newsletter: the email address used and, if possible, the date;
- for cookie preferences: the identifier saved in your browser (the
va_consententry in the site's local storage), or the approximate date and time of your choice.
We reply within one month. Pseudonymous cookie preference records may not be traceable to you without the identifier: if so, we will explain this to you. Proof of acknowledgment can be deleted once it is no longer needed to demonstrate that ongoing processing is lawful. All your rights are described in the privacy policy.
Versions in force
Current versions of the policies
The log links each choice to the version of the policy in force at that time. Previous versions remain archived and can be requested.
| Document | Version | In force from |
|---|---|---|
| Privacy policy | 1.3 | October 21, 2026 |
